This professional development program is a chance to foster a mentoring relationship between the alumni and students. The program enables alumni to share their professional and personal experience and expertise with current students. While this is not a job placement program, the connections made in this program will help prepare our students for a successful future, navigate uncertainty, and leave a lasting impact on our campus community. The program will consist of required meetings held between the Mentors and Mentees within the academic year.
How it Works
Potential mentors (alumni) and mentees (students) are welcome to apply below. The application includes a series of questions about you and a check list of; area of discipline, class year, gender preferred and demographic area. While every effort will be made to pair a student with a suitable alumnus/ae, some mentors will have more than one mentee depending on the number of participants. There will also be a cap on the number of participants for this first cohort.
The program is structured around four meetings over the course of an academic year. Mentees and mentors will be matched by criteria and responses from their questionnaire that will be mutually beneficial to both participants.
