On May 8th 2025, Andy Marsh, a proud Temple Owl, will return to the nest to impart his wisdom to the graduating class.
Andy Marsh graduated in 1982 with a degree in electrical engineering and has since taken the world by storm. As the CEO of Plug Power, Andy has guided the company’s transformation into a global leader in the hydrogen economy. Under his leadership, Plug has built the industry’s first vertically integrated hydrogen ecosystem—spanning production, storage, delivery, and power generation—to help customers decarbonize at scale and achieve energy independence. Andy’s connection to Temple runs deep. He is proud to be the first in his family to attend college and has shared his inspiring story with many students. A number of his siblings, nieces, and nephews have also followed in his footsteps, attending Temple and continuing the family tradition. In 2017, Andy was honored with the prestigious Gallery of Success Award by the College of Engineering in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the field.
Beyond his professional success, Andy remains a passionate supporter of the College of Engineering. He serves on the Board of Visitors and has made significant philanthropic contributions, including an endowed scholarship in honor of his parents.
With his unique combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering dedication to sustainability, Andy Marsh exemplifies the qualities we strive to instill in our graduates. We’re excited to have him share his perspective on solving bold, real-world challenges—and to spark inspiration in the Class of 2025 as they begin their own paths in engineering.
