Welcome to a brand new academic year!
There’s nothing quite like the buzz of fall semester and the campus coming alive with energy, classrooms filled with curiosity, and the IDEAS Hub humming with innovation. It’s a fresh start, and the excitement is real!
To the Class of 2029: welcome! You're about to embark on an incredible journey—one that will challenge, inspire, and transform you. You’re now part of a bold community of thinkers, builders, and changemakers. So dive in! Talk to your professors. Join a club. Try something new. The possibilities here are endless, and we're all behind you every step of the way.
To our returning students, welcome back! Whether you spent your summer interning, presenting at conferences, or competing nationally, I hope you’re coming back energized and ready to keep the momentum going.
Last year was one for the books: major research grants for our faculty, a student-designed sustainable system installed in Charles Library, and a historic trio of Temple Goldwater Scholars, including one from our very own electrical and computer engineering program. That’s just scratching the surface.
I know the 2025–2026 year will be even bigger. Because if there’s one thing we do best as engineers, it’s push boundaries and build a better world.
So let’s hit the ground running, the future starts now.
Let’s get to work!
